Yeah, there are an abundance of Jens in my life, which I'm grateful for. :-)

From talking with Jen Pfeifer, I see that she is surrounded by an amazing group of runners (such as yourself) and it seems like you are able to encourage each other, which is wonderful. Jen P. told me after the race that she didn't taper at all and that she ran 85 miles for the week. So the race really was a kind of tempo run for her. Just amazing. I find being around accomplished runners such as her to be very inspiring.Ronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15764467043221298433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15203267.post-88341004362689676572012-02-27T08:06:11.654-08:002012-02-27T08:06:11.654-08:00evernalkNice write up...Jen P is a friend and trai...evernalkNice write up...Jen P is a friend and training partner of mine, and yes, she is in great shape and totally inspiring. I really enjoyed this race -- it's my favorite 50K now and I would recommend it to others, especially for someone's first 50K.

Yeah, I think the cross-training, or at least a little bit of strength training, is very useful. Hope you can get your hubby involved!

Thanks again for being out there yesterday and for putting on such a great race.Ronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15764467043221298433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15203267.post-37606657545142893002012-02-26T19:22:21.515-08:002012-02-26T19:22:21.515-08:00Great job Ron! I like the fact you mentioned you're doing a boot camp class once/week with your wife -- I'm going to show that to my husband. I started doing a boot camp class too once/week (in addition to strength training once or twice/week) and am trying to recruit my husband to join me :-). I think it helps make us better runners. Hope to see you at another Inside Trail event.Sarah Lavender Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14119341345004909332noreply@blogger.com
